Date options and settings.

Auto-Date/Time - see main Winlog32 toolbar

'Change Log date format'.

Winlog32 defaults to the Windows date locale format - the Regional Date display in Windows, if the 'Current date format' dialog is blank, then the default is being used.
The default date format is set in Windows Regional Settings and depends on your 'locale' (Regional/Country) settings.
If you wish to display the date in Winlog32 differently from the 'locale' setting, a number of date formats are offered in the list, although it may be possible to add your own custom format by simply changing the 'Current date format' dialog.
In some cases it may not be possible to display dates correctly which are quite foreign to the current Windows 'locale'.

Whatever date display/format may be chosen, IF YOU MANUALLY ADD OR EDIT A DATE, IT MUST BE IN THE FORMAT OF THE WINDOWS 'LOCALE'.
Example; if you have date set to display DD/MM/YY (as in the UK) yet Windows Locale is set to MM/DD/YY (as in the USA) - then any date entered manually MUST be entered as MM/DD/YY (as USA format- month first).
For simplicities sake, it is advised to use the same format as Windows Locale - the default, unless the different display setting is essential.

'Format date output..' should be enabled to apply this option.

Close the Settings window and click on the LOAD button to refresh the log date display.

'Keep input date current'.

This setting only applies when the 'auto-date' function is disabled (toolbar button) and when manually entering dates into the Log, e.g. when writting up an old paper log into Winlog32.
When this option is enabled, the previously entered date is automatically inserted into the next log entry, thus saving time, this is useful where you may have several entries with the same date.
Although this option does save time, care should be taken as it is easy to forget to change the date when necessary.

'CANCEL' discards changes.
